NYU and ACT UAW Unionwide Meeting: Taking Action to Defend Each Other

  • Sixth Street Community Center 638 East 6th Street New York, NY, 10009 United States (map)

In early November, members from unions across NYU and The New School held a gathering to process what the presidential election will mean for us as workers, educators, and members of diverse communities. After January 20th, we will start to see major changes at the federal level directly impacting higher education, our workplace rights, and individual rights. Let’s come together, locally, to build power to defend ourselves and each other, both in and outside our union.

Please join us on Thursday, January 23 as we continue our conversation, become better acquainted with each other, build affinity groups around urgent issues, and start planning autonomous actions. As before, we will meet off-campus, at the wonderful Sixth Street Community Center in Alphabet City. The Local will provide food and beverages.

No previous organizing or political experience is required – only a willingness to show up and be part of the collective work.
